ABOUT ME
Meredith Knight is a science and health writer and author of American Sicko.
Meredith Knight has worked in health journalism and consulting since 2008. Her work has appeared in Scientific American online, Consumer’s Digest magazine, and industry and government websites and publications. Her professional work and personal obsessions largely focus on health care.
Meredith is seeking representation for her debut novel, American Sicko, a 2022 Writers League of Texas Manuscript Competition Finalist.
American Sicko
Becca Saunders is a diabetic woman who’s forced to leave her family when new government regulations make insulin not just unaffordable, but impossible to get. Becca learns that there is a group of sick people who have begun to fight back, determined to regain their autonomy through violent means. As Becca’s options dwindle – should she bankrupt her family or obtain insulin illegally and end up incarcerated in a government Wellness Home – she realizes she must join the fight. She abandons her family to find the Sickos and create a better future for her sons.
